We are opening the doors of SKH’s East London Studio, to welcome the next generation of talent, looking for a space to shine and a colleague to vibe with.

tHE ROle

The Subrina Kidd Hair Studio, founded in 2022, is a serene haven for an eclectic mix of clientele, many who have been clients of Subrina’s for more than two decades.

We’re seeking a skilled, confident, dynamic associate hair stylist to join Team SKH. You’ll need to be comfortable operating as an interdependent stylist, in a collaborative setting, confident in booking your own clients and providing a luxury experience, in line with the current culture of the Studio.

Key elements that we are seeking from an Associate to join SKH, are:

Experience of self-employment:
You are self-employed and self-sufficient, with your own book of clients

Drive and intentionality:
You are a self-starter and a go-getter, with the ability to think-on-your feet and anticipate the needs of your clients

Industry Knowledge:
You'll be a great fit if you have experience of a broad range of hair textures

Respectful:
An Associate who will respect the Studio; interior, ambiance and surrounding environment are key aspects that add to the client and service-provider experience. As a Studio key-holder, you’ll be expected to take responsibility for the space when you’re there independently, maintaining security as required

Tools:
You will need to have your own equipment toolkit to facilitate your Client appointments

Insurances & Assurances:
Associates are required to have (or be willing to secure) both professional indemnity and public liability insurance. This is non-negotiable.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Intended start date:
Commencing in 2025 on a date to be mutually agreed

Availability:
The Studio is currently open Tuesday to Saturday, 8am - 5pm. However, you will be welcome to choose your own hours; whether full-time or on specific, set-days of the week, the choice is entirely yours

Time commitment:
3 month minimum engagement, ongoing commitment (subject to a trial period to ensure we’re aligned) 

Associate rate:
Our Associate rate is a fixed fee to hire the chair, per week (or part thereof) and will be disclosed ahead of the next stage of our engagement process

Things to consider:
SKH works exclusively with natural hair and welcomes Associates who do so also. On this basis, we are not seeking specialist services such as hair extensions, wigs or keratin and/or texture release services
